  • What is College Level Work?
  • A current dilemma in education is how to judge what is appropriate work from students at various levels of the post secondary education environment. In a recent research study (ACT, 2007), the ACT organization summarizes their view of high school graduates and the ability of these students to succeed in college. In general, ACT pins the definition of quality curriculum at high school level to two items. First, high school curricula are evaluated as they prepare students to go into the workforce. Second, high school curricula are evaluated as they prepare students to succeed in college. College level work, then, becomes a benchmark against which high school curricula is measured.
  • "It has to be part of the role of the faculty to create the correct level of curricula for the students."
